ENLAKE Platelet Shakers + Platelet Shaker Incubators
Platelet shakers, also known as platelet agitators, are used to keep platelet bags in constant gentle motion during storage.
Platelets are not stored like red blood cells or frozen plasma. They are kept at controlled room temperature, typically between 20°C and 24°C, and need continuous agitation to help prevent settling and clumping.
A platelet shaker uses a gentle reciprocating motion to keep the contents of the platelet bag moving. Perforated trays or drawers allow air to circulate around the bags while they are being stored.
Platelet shakers are commonly used in hospital blood banks, blood centres, transfusion services and clinical research laboratories. They are often used inside a suitable platelet incubator or refrigerated incubator set to maintain the required storage temperature.
ENLAKE supplies platelet shakers and compatible incubators for platelet storage applications. Contact ENLAKE to select the right shaker and incubator for your facility.
