Blood Plasma Freezer

Blood Plasma Freezers are used for the storage of Fresh frozen plasma (FFP). FFP is a blood product used in transfusions for the treatment of coagulation protein deficiencies. All of ENLAKE’s range of blood plasma freezers comply with the Australian Standard AS3864-2012 Medical refrigeration equipment – For the storage of blood and blood products, Part 1: Manufacturing requirements.

As patient safety is critical when it concerns transfusions, AS3864-2012 is a difficult standard to meet. For instance, a blood plasma freezer must always keep the content below -25°C even when the ambient temperature is as high as 43°C. In comparison, most laboratory freezers are only rated for an ambient temperature of 32°C.
